Currently I am examining the heat budgets of shallow embayments and estuaries to determine the role of advective cooling. Eelgrass is present in these areas and the plant’s ability to grow is partially dependent on water temperature. Identification of the significant processes preventing water from overheating may be useful to eelgrass restoration specialists.
