INTD 1820 Marine Sciences Introductory Lab
A first semester introduction to field and lab work in marine sciences. You will take field trips, collect samples, and return to one of the Marine Sciences laboratories to analyze results and discuss the concepts and processes of science.

A two semester introductory course to the biological, chemical, physical and geological structure and function of coastal systems. You will learn through lectures, field trips, laboratories, discussion sections, and assigned projects.
MARN 3000 The Hydrosphere and Climate Change
The Hydrosphere and Climate Change: You will study the interactions of the physical and chemical components of the global water and energy cycles and how all apply to climate. The science behind climate change predictions will be reviewed and applied to case studies.
MARN 3001 Coastal Systems Science II
The second semester of the introductory course to the biological, chemical, physical and geological structure and function of coastal systems. You will learn through lectures, field trips, laboratories, discussion sections, and assigned projects.
MARN 3060 Coastal Circulation and Sediment Transport
An exploration of circulation and mixing in estuaries and the inner continental shelf, and the related geological processes. You will study the impact of currents, waves, and tides on the deposition and erosion of sediments and the shoreline.
MARN 3801W Coastal Studies Seminar
A discussion-based course designed to develop a working knowledge of various coastal topics and to practice written and oral communication skills. You will read the primary literature, review and analyze coastal zone issues, and consider the implications for the environment and surrounding communities.
MARN 4001 Measurement and Analysis in Coastal Ecosystems
An upper division course emphasizing field and lab experience. You will design and execute projects to study ecological processes in local coastal habitats, such as salt ponds, estuaries, and Long Island Sound. By doing lab and field sampling, computer data analysis, and presenting your results, you get practical experience that reinforces the concepts you learned in earlier courses.
MARN 4002 Science and the Coastal Environment
In-depth analysis of real-world case studies. You will work with classmates in teams exploring diverse complex interactions linking society and our coastal environment.
